Courage is defined by Wikipedia as the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. How Courageous Are You? You need a lot of courage for almost anything you do daily!
Before I say a few things about courage, here are some of the things that have been said about courage…
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” — Winston Churchill
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ― E.E. Cummings
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” ― Winston Churchill
“Courage: the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently.” ― Maya Angelou
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” ― Ambrose Redmoon
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV)
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)
The truth is, you can’t achieve anything without courage. No matter how sane the thing may be. You have the ability to overcome whatever challenges with your courage. It is either you lose or you win. You lose by giving up on yourself, you win by making effective use of the resources that you have and staying power that lies inside you.
How often do you face your worst fears? How often do you push beyond your limits? If you are courageous, you’ll do these every day. Live courageously!
