The Best Women’s FIFA Player of the Year

Nominations and voting for the best Women’s FIFA player of the year have been concluded since the 10th of August 2018. However, the three finalists will be revealed on the 3rd of September 2018. This would later be concluded on the 24th of September 2018 in London where the three finalists will be crowned.

Before then, here are the women who were chosen as candidates for the nominations and voting for the final FIFA player of the year.

    She won the league and UEFA Women’s Champions League double in during the maiden season in France. She also helped England remain unbeaten in Women’s World Cup qualifying round during 2017/18. She is named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

     

  • Pernille Harder
  • Pernille Harder

    She helped Wolfsburg lift Frauen-Bundesliga, scoring league-high 17 goals; scored eight in UEFA Women’s Champions League, including one in the final and named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

    She helped Lyon win Ligue 1 Feminine, with 31 goals in just 20 appearances; won UEFA Women’s Champions League and set a new competition record of 15 goals in one edition and; named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

    She helped Lyon win Ligue 1 Feminine and UEFA Women’s Champions League double; scored in UEFA Women’s Champions League final and; named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

     

  • Samantha Kerr

    She is the top scorer in the 2017 National Women’s Soccer League with 17 goals for Sky Blue FC. She also helped Australia to AFC Women’s Asian Cup final, scoring three goals. Scored 11 goals in 14 games for Matildas between September 2017 and April 2018.

    She captained Japan to AFC Women’s Asian Cup win; Won league and UEFA Women’s Champions League double with Lyon and; named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

    She won the league and UEFA Women’s Champions League double with Lyon; captained Germany to five wins in six Women’s World Cup qualifying games and; named in UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the tournament.

    She captained Olympique Lyonnais to the league and UEFA Women’s Champions League double; named in UEFA Women’s Champions League team of the tournament and; earned 100th Les Bleues cap in April 2018, in an 8-0 friendly victory over Nigeria.

    She scored 13 goals, laid on six assists in helping Orlando Pride to National Women’s Soccer League playoffs. She was named in the National Women’s Soccer League Best XI and the league’s team of the season. She also captained Brazil to Copa America Femenina title, winning all seven games.

  • Megan Rapinoe

    Helped USA to 2018 SheBelieves Cup title, scoring winner against Germany in opener; played a key role in an unbeaten run of 12 USA games without defeat between September 2017 and April 2018; scored 12 goals in 18 National Women’s Soccer League games for Seattle Reign in 2017 campaign.
