Women and girls around the world spend over 25% of their time each day collecting water. You and I both know that a woman’s time is valuable. With more of it, she could send her daughter to school, earn income, and make informed choices for the well-being of her family. In September 2011, the Wello team arrived in India with the goal of improving the experience of collecting, storing, and using water. Over the last 15 months, they’ve spent countless hours designing and prototyping in the field. They’ve carried hundreds of litres of water and interviewed over 1,500 community members, practitioners and experts.
The result: THE WATERWHEEL 2.0 PROTOTYPE. It is new and improved, but most importantly, it is a direct translation of the features and elements that were most crucial to the end-users.
What would you do with an extra 35 hours a week? Wello believes that the time saved by using the WaterWheel will make a positive, productive, and life-changing impact on the lives of the women and girls. Wello has come a long way in the past year, but they couldn’t have done it without your support and encouragement!
You can help Wello keep the momentum going by making a tax-deductible contribution to Wello in support of our social impact pilot that launches in Jodhpur, India this week!
Your support will help us to:
• Send WaterWheels into the field
• Measure the social impact of the WaterWheel
• Fine tune the WaterWheel and refine our business model for scale
• Reduce the time and physical burdens of water collection
• And…unlock the untapped potential of hundreds of women and girls
