In what is said to be a competitive take-on on Temu and Shein, Amazon has launched a discount Amazon Haul store. The store, which offers mass-produced, discounted items, is currently available on the mobile app or mobile web browser.
This is good news for those who are looking for more ways to shop discounted products. However, this is a massive departure from what Amazon is known for. Amazon has a long-established reputation of rapid delivery times. Most of the mass-produced, discounted items will be shipped from China and that means the delivery times will not be as rapid as Amazon’s known delivery times.
You don’t need to create an account on the Haul store if you currently have an account with Amazon.com. You can continue to use your account to shop on Amazon Store and Haul Store. In addition, items you purchases from Haul can be found in ‘My Orders’ section of your account on both mobile and desktop.
Similar to Temu and Shein, Amazon Haul offers products in diverse categories such as Clothing, Electronics, Home, Jewelry, Beauty, Accessories etc. Unlike Temu and Shein, Amazon claims that it screen sellers ahead of time. Likewise, if customers want to return their purchases, they can do so for free within 15 days as long as the item is over $3.
The question is, will the Haul store succeed? Only time will tell. It’s success is largely dependent two things, (i) on how Amazon executes the Haul and (ii) on the customer experience and preference of the Haul store over Temu and Shein.
