There are times in life when every thing seems to stop working out the way we want it to be. We look for things but we don’t find them. We therefore look down on ourselves and wish we are not in such situation. As it common to life, we get to find ourselves in such situation. I find myself in such situations too. During one of such situations, I came out with this poem titled, “Finally, I Looked Up”. I believe you will find this useful, especially if you share my faith.
All I could get was lust
My mistake
I never asked from above
So, all I had was lost
I looked around searching for lasting happiness
All I could get was temporary excitement
My mistake
I never asked the everlasting highness
So, all I had was unfulfillment
I looked around searching for peace
All I could get was violence
My mistake
I never asked the Prince of peace
So, all I had was nonsense
I looked around searching for stability
All I could get was restlessness
My mistake
I never asked the Supreme Royalty
So, all I had was distress
I looked around searching for life
All I could get was death
My mistake
I never asked for eternal life
So, all I had was trying to take my breath
Finally, I looked up and saw Jesus, the Christ
Saying, come I’ll give you all you need
No more mistakes
I grabbed Him with all I was and all I am
Now, I have everything I’ve been looking for and more.
