Kindle Direct Publishing Select All-Stars referred to as “KDP Select All-Stars” is a program organized by Amazon Kindle where each month, awards called “All-Star bonuses” are given to books and authors that are read the most in Kindle Unlimited (KU). Authors and titles are rewarded based on how much Amazon Kindle customers read the author’s books in Kindle Unlimited (KU). Authors and titles selected each month for the awards are notified by email.
Where do the Bonuses Come From?
The awards/bonuses are granted based on the monthly KDP Select Global Fund. As an example, the Fund for February 2022 is $39.4 million. The Fund is awarded to “KDP Select All-Stars” for February 2022 to the most-read authors and most-read titles in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. All bonuses are awarded based on total Kindle Edition Normalized Pages read during the month of February 2022. Bonuses are also awarded for illustrated kids’ books; the top 100 most read titles in the US and top 25 in the UK will receive such bonuses.
How are the Bonuses Shared?
The bonuses are shared based on Author and Title rankings. Each month, the authors and titles are ranked based on the total number of Kindle Edition Normalized Pages read. The amount given to each author and title is different based on the ranks and the Amazon marketplace used. The image below shows how the bonuses are shared based on rankings and the marketplace.
