In the annual report titled “The Global Gender Gap Report 2018,” researchers measured the discrepancies between women and men across 149 countries. These ate grouped into four categories: economic opportunity, political empowerment, education options, health, and survival.

The report was not created to put blames of the least performing countries or praise the best performing countries. It is, however, to show that there is still a lot of work to be done in closing the global gender gap. Every country could work better at promoting gender equality. This is because even the top-performing countries have closed at least 80% of the gender gap. And the truth is, gender inequality affects everyone, not just women alone.
