FOCUS: A Key to Succeeding in Online Business

Recently, I was buzzed up by a friend via GTalk (GoogleTalk). He asked me I’m I planning to build my next big thing. I gave him my answer and we went on and on talking about online businesses and some other things that counts towards succeeding online. One of the thing that kept showing up in our conversation was “focus“. He told me about his present online business (which I new when he started it) and how he has been working night and day to build his next big thing that he is going to be focusing on. I’m so sure he’ll succeed at it

If you also want to succeed online, you need focus. Focus was simple defined as Follow One Course (path) Until Success. I use this a lot in all the things I do despite that fact that I face so many distractions. You really need focus for succeeding in online business. Today, I have a few things to share with you about focus and online business.

People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things. – Steve Jobs

Even though it sounds easy, it is not always easy to focus in the context of internet marketing. When working on the internet from your home, you are answerable to yourself for your day-to-day productivity. So, it is easy to find yourself spending your day browsing the web, checking emails and really getting no where.

Pay attention to what you are actually going do from the moment you sit down at your computer to begin your “work day.” Do you begin your day with a list of productive tasks to move your online business forward, or do you keep going over your email for the next quick-cash biz op? Don’t attempt to discover everything about everything, but start each day with the clear priority of focusing on your current business venture.

Determining your reasons for wanting to achieve success can help a good deal in gaining focus. Obviously, we all desire to make money, but that is just the surface reason for starting a business. What making money will do for your life is the true reason you must get in touch with. One person may want to buy dream house while another wishes to travel freely with the security of a passive income. It’s very important to have a clear vision of how your life will improve when you attain your goals. Until you possess a clear vision of where you’re going, every “shiny object” will distract you from attaining success.

Keeping your vision in focus daily is the secret to building a successful, long term business. This enables you to stay on course. When we talk about vision, you truly must feel it to the point where you actually believe you are reaching your goals. All the terrific self help books talk about having a burning desire that it is associated with strong emotion, and you need this in your online marketing if you are going to make it in the long term. That desire, when combined with the lessons you can learn from people who have already succeeded, will speed up your success. Nevertheless, you should act and implement.

Nonetheless, your action has to be well-planned and carried out to the point where you achieve results. Your focus and ability to follow through are the keys to building a long-term passive income generating Internet business. That’s the time when you’ll be able to realize your vision

  1. That’s a great article. Non focus really cost me a lot and I think that’s should be foundation and basic etiquette of delving into any online business. Carefully define and research your niche and focus on it. Nice one Mr Adesoji, keep it coming.

    1. It’s one of the foundations.

  2. I think am guilty of this. Would wanted to publish a post about something on my blog and once I sit on the internet, I would unknowingly be caught up in something else.

    Thanks for this, gonna re-focus
