Climate Action: Google and UN launch Open Foris online platform

The Open Foris online platform was recently unveiled by the United Nations. This is a new software developed in partnership with Google to help tackle climate change, deforestation, and food production issues. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) launched the Open Foris online platform that will use a high-resolution satellite to send images to monitor changes in land use and forest cover. Multibillion Dollar Clean Energy Fund

Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, is in the list of billionaires who engage in projects focused on environmental issues, and he is certainly not alone. As part of the United Nations’ climate talks in Paris (November 30 to December 11, 2015), Gates will announce the creation of a multibillion-dollar clean energy fund allocated for the development of and research on clean energy. Together with Gates, developed and developing nations will launch the Clean Tech Initiative. Countries will pledge that by 2020, they will double their budget and research on the development of clean technology. Private companies will also increase their investments in the clean energy fund.
