Globacom, Nigeria’s second largest mobile operator recently introduced a new service. This service is called GloConnect. It is a Facebook application that lets their (Globacom) subscribers and customers to interact with their friends, families and loved ones via Facebook.
The Globacom’s Facebook Application called “GloConnect” is a service that allows Glo subscribers use SMS and MMS to update their Facebook profile status, post on walls, find friends upload pictures and much more directly from your Glo mobile phone.
GloConnect lets you:
- Post updates on your Facebook profile
- Post on friend’s walls on Facebook
- Post your pictures on Facebook via MMS
- View Glo’s up-coming events
- Search for friends on Facebook
- View friends and loved one’s comments
How do you get this done?
A Facebook status update, wall post or comment is just an SMS away. You need to send an SMS to 3223 using the syntax below;
- To set your status, Type: S followed by status message. e.g: S is watching TV
- To get latest events on your profile, Type: E
- To get notifications on your profile, Type: N
- To get the latest comments on your status, photos and wall, Type: C
- To post a message on your friend’s wall, Type W: Friend’s-Firstname. Friend’s-Surname followed by message. e.g: W John.Obasanjo Happy birthday dear friend!
- To search for friends on your profile, Type: F Friend’s-Firstname. Friend’s-Surname. e.g: F John Obasanjo
GloConnect is absolutely free of charge. To get started, go to GloConnect’s application page on facebook by clicking on this link http://apps.facebook.com/gloconnect
Once you get to the page, follow the instructions to get registered. After you do, you can start enjoying the service brought to you by Globacom.
Also,
You can send photos (pictures) on your mobile phone to your Facebook profile by following the instruction below;
Just snap a picture and send it through MMS to have it on your profile!
It’s easy. Follow these steps:
1: Compose an MMS on your phone
2: Attach the photo you wish to upload. (one photo at a time)
3: Write the caption you wish to give the photo
4: Send the MMS to the ShortCode (3223)
If you are not activated for MMS, activate now by sending the keyword “activate” via SMS to 667 or dial 121 for assistance. You can also start browsing the internet on your mobile phone by sending the keyword “activate” via SMS to 927 or dial 121 for assistance.
