#DoAgric: Agriculture is not only Important, it’s vital. Agriculture pays

Almost 400 million people across our continent (Africa) depends on agriculture for their livelihoods. The majority are small holder farmers who live in poverty and struggle to feed their families. As an African I know we can do better. Please I ask you and your family to sign the petition to do agric.

do-agricWhile some African leaders have made statements of good will, currently only 8 countries have kept their promise to invest 10% of their national budgets in agriculture. It is therefore essential to do more, to go further. Agriculture is not only important, it’s vital. Agriculture pays.

If we take action today we can help lift 85 million people out of extreme poverty by 2024. That’s an Africa we can all be proud of.

We can grow millions of jobs, feed Africa and create a better future if you keep your promises to invest in agriculture and support smallholder farmers, especially women. Africa’s smallholder farmers are the people that feed us, but often struggle to feed themselves. They are the people most connected to our land and animals, but can lack the resources to make them thrive. They have been ignored by our leaders for too long.

We can change this if we DO AGRIC. Join me and sign ONE’s petition right now. Sign the petition and ask your family and friends to tell African Leaders that It’s time to Do Agric and transform lives.

Investing in agriculture pays. It could help lift tens of millions of people out of extreme poverty by 2024, provide jobs, and boost the continent’s economy. Africa doesn’t just have the potential to feed itself – it has the potential to help feed the world.

It’s time to DO AGRIC, it pays.

Thank you,
